Pongour Waterfall is located in Tan Nghia village, Ninh Gia commune, Duc Trong district, Lam Dong province, about 50km from Da Lat city center.

Pongour Waterfall is open to tourists from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. every day of the week. 

3. What’s Interesting at Pongour Da Lat Waterfall?

3.1. Legend of Pongour Falls

Probably you are aware that the K’ho tribe once managed Pongour waterfall under the lovely female chief Kanai. She is very strong and talented; she can hunt and tuck wild animals into the bush under control. The remarkable aspect is that the girl tamed four animals far larger than average. They always pay her attention and assist farmers. K’ho ethnic people’s lives have been increasingly complete and peaceful since then.

However, the unfortunate thing is that she did not live long. She passed away on the full moon day of the first month. Four rhinos were always next to her, not caring about eating or drinking until they died. Sometime later, when Kanai passed away, a beautiful waterfall appeared and was called Thien Thai waterfall. Her hair had turned into clear water, and the rows of rocks arranged in layers were fossils of rhino horn. From then on, the name Pongour was interpreted by the people to mean “four rhino horns.”.

There is a very big area downstream of the waterfall. You can set up a tent, make some snacks, sing, or soak your feet in the cool water. This spot is free. You can also cross the rough beach at Tien Sa if there are no other places to go. There’s nothing better than hearing about a BBQ party in the middle of nature while talking with family and friends. It makes you want to pack your bags and go right away.

4. When should you go to Pongour waterfall

The best time to visit is from July to November every year. In this time, the amount of water during this time will fall heavily and strongly. To keep your safe, you can only climb the first three to four floors of the waterfall. This way, you can see and live online. It will be very dangerous to go any further.
